Christian musician Jeremy Camp takes the spotlight and urges Lipscomb students to help their neighbors during his first “Come Celebrate Nashville” concert at 7 p.m. Friday in Allen Arena. The free concert is the first in what he plans to make an annual event that is aimed at getting Lipscomb students to help in the community. While there is no admission cost, he is asking that people bring donations for Second Harvest Food Bank and Warm Coats from Warm Hearts. “He is a great artist and I’m so glad he is performing at Lipscomb” said Matt Mitchell, a senior biology major. “This is a great opportunity to give back to Nashville.” Second Harvest, which distributes food to those in need, is trying to restock the pantry that was pretty much depleted by the needs of the city’s May flood victims. LU students can help out by bringing canned goods to the concert. The Warm Coats program is in need of new and gently used winter coats to be distributed throughout the city as the colder weather arrives.
